Meet | Gail Sorronda
Completing her Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts Fashion Design at Queensland University of Technology in 2005, Gail launched her self titled label, Gail Sorronda, in 2005 after winning the Mercedes-Benz Start–Up Award with her debut collection “Angel at my Table”. Gail was then invited to be a part of ‘Designers for Target’ Australia collaboration, which saw Gail Sorronda for Target nationally.
Since, Gail has gone on to be recognised globally for her designs. Relocating to Paris in 2008, she developed her SS09/10 collection ‘Invasive Exotics’ with an Italian production company of which she continues to work with to this day. In 2010 Gail Sorronda was a finalist in Vogue Italia’s Who Is On Next competition, enabling her to present in group shows at AltaRoma and Milan Fashion Week. Notably in 2010, Gail's designs were handpicked by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, to be stocked in the Dolce & Gabbana Spiga2 store in Milan. The pair praised the label in Vanity Fair as the top selling label in their store.

In 2012 Gail returned home to Australia and opened the label's first permanent flagship boutique in Brisbane’s Fortitude Valley. Gail Sorronda has gone on to collaborate with the Queensland Ballet, Expressions Dance Company, Disney, and artists; Grazia Fortuna Ward, Michael Zavros and Lyn & Tony. Most recently, Gail was selected as an ambassador for the Gallery of Modern Art.
